Dental Insurance FAQs
Do you participate with my dental insurance plan?
We accept nearly all dental insurance plans and will submit the paperwork needed for you to receive reimbursement. However, we are not contracted with any dental insurance companies. Regardless, most insurance companies will pay our office directly. A few insurance companies will only pay the patient directly, which means that you will pay for treatment or services and then you will be reimbursed by your dental insurance carrier. Your reimbursement is typically sent to you by the insurance company within 3 weeks of claims processing.
Will my dental care be more expensive?
We work for our patients not for the dental insurance company. Unfortunately, the standard of care as outlined by most dental insurance plans is inadequate for most patients. Dr. Harper will educate you on your condition and the treatment options available so that you can select the one that fits your long term goals and budget. Patients come to our Poquoson dental office because they know they are getting the best value.
Will dental insurance cover my treatment?
Dental insurance is not like health insurance and many of the services we offer are not covered. Dental insurance typically covers the cost of preventive services such as routine examinations, X-rays and teeth cleanings. For treatments not covered by dental insurance, we offer alternative payment options such as financing through CareCredit.
